Whiplash — what the ER didn't catch
You walked away from the accident feeling okay. Now, days later, your neck is stiff, your head is pounding, and your shoulders won't relax. Delayed-onset whiplash is extremely common — and our INSiGHT scan detects the nerve system stress that X-rays miss.
Book a Post-Accident AssessmentWhy whiplash is so often under-treated
Emergency rooms are equipped to rule out fractures and acute bleeding — not to assess the ligament, disc, and nerve damage that whiplash commonly causes. A normal X-ray after a car accident does not mean your spine is unaffected. It means there is no bone fracture.
Whiplash causes a rapid, forced forward-backward motion of the cervical spine. This can strain or tear ligaments, herniate or bulge cervical discs, misalign vertebrae, and create significant nerve stress — all invisible on a standard X-ray but detectable through neurological scanning.
The earlier you are assessed and treated, the better your recovery outcome. We recommend booking within 72 hours of any accident, even if you feel fine.
Common Symptoms
Neck stiffness and reduced range of motion
Often appearing 24–72 hours after the accident as inflammation sets in around strained ligaments and joints.
Headaches at the base of the skull
Suboccipital headaches that radiate forward into the forehead — a classic post-whiplash presentation.
Shoulder and upper back tightness
Muscles throughout the upper back brace protectively after an accident — causing widespread tension and pain.
Arm tingling or numbness
Nerve root irritation from disc or vertebral injury can send symptoms into the arms and hands.
We offer direct billing for MVA claims — we'll help you navigate the process so you can focus entirely on recovery.
