Headaches & Migraines — your pain is not in your head
Most headaches don't start in the head. They start in the neck — where misaligned vertebrae and tight suboccipital muscles refer pain upward into the skull. Chiropractic is one of the most evidence-supported treatments for cervicogenic headaches.
Book an AssessmentWhy your headache probably starts in your neck
Cervicogenic headaches — caused by problems in the cervical spine — are among the most common and most undertreated types. The suboccipital muscles at the base of the skull, and the upper three cervical vertebrae (C1, C2, C3), all have direct neurological connections to the trigeminal nerve — the primary pain pathway for head pain.
When these upper cervical structures are under stress — from misalignment, tension, or injury — they refer pain into the head, temples, forehead, and behind the eyes. Many patients are diagnosed with tension headaches or migraines when the actual source is structural and directly treatable.
Our INSiGHT scan assesses nerve function at each cervical level, helping us identify whether your headaches have a spinal source — and treat accordingly rather than masking symptoms with pain medication.
Headache Types We Treat
Cervicogenic Headaches
Directly caused by cervical spine dysfunction — typically felt on one side, starting at the base of the skull and radiating forward.
Tension Headaches
Often caused by chronic muscle tension in the neck, shoulders, and upper back — highly responsive to chiropractic adjustment.
Migraine Support
While migraines have a neurological basis, cervical dysfunction is a known trigger. Reducing spinal nerve stress can decrease frequency and severity.
You don't have to live on pain medication. If your headaches have a cervical source, chiropractic can address the cause — not just the symptom.
If your headaches keep coming back, let's find out why.
INSiGHT scan and upper cervical assessment included. Direct billing available.
